Microsoft Virtualization Solution
The Microsoft First Tier 2 City OF in China
hiSoft's Virtualization Solution is a joint innovation with MSIT for server virtualization & application virtualization, but which can also be applied for lab virtualization to reduce hardware and energy needs.
This solution was implemented in the OF Workstation Virtualization Project for Microsoft, using Microsoft Hyper-V to host virtual machines and Microsoft System Center as the management platform in a Lab environment, which had previously never been tried. This is the first attempt by a Microsoft IT Outsourcing partner in China to deploy this technology.
The project takes place at hiSoft’s own facilities, which are not directly owned or leased by Microsoft, but are used for Microsoft dedicated development and testing, including hardware products, software products, line of business applications, tools, utilities, or any other types of Microsoft products.
Great Results Generated by This Initiative:
a. Extends user experience of Microsoft System Center to the lab
hiSoft is the first IT outsourcing partner who has succeeded in using Microsoft System Center to manage its lab. It enhances the engagement between hiSoft and Microsoft, and makes the business of both companies more successful.
b. Improves the delivery model of hiSoft business
By using Microsoft System Center as the management platform, hiSoft transferred the delivery model from one user with two physical machines to one user with one physical machine and one virtual machine smoothly. The delivery center was able to extend 100 seats without a new switch purchase, saves on electricity of $3,348 monthly, and reduced the number of machines by 20%.
c. Improved productivity by 15%
Since Microsoft System Center uses virtual machine images to setup virtual machines, the productivity is much better than the setup of physical machines from CD/DVD.
hiSoft delivery center for Microsoft in Wuxi opened in May of 2009, helping Microsoft to 'do more with less', FASTER. It's the Microsoft first tier 2 city OF in China and got strong supports from Microsoft.

Our mission is establish the first Microsoft outsourcing industry talent development center in China by leveraging the support from MS China R&D group. The first class of MS School opened in last Decemeber, 100 selective candidates out of 1000 resumes from top 100 universities in China have been trainned.
